B. L. Blankenship's HELLFIRE Comic Universe Characters

The following are highlighting B. L. Blankenship's creator owned series, that will appear in &/or be attached to HELLFIRE season 1's comics, which include:

HELLFIRE #1 - SMALLDOG #1 (projected pub. date: NOV 2026)

HELLFIRE #2 - HOLY GHOST EXORCIST #1 (projected pub. date: DEC 2026)

HELLFIRE #3 - SMALLDOG #2 (projected pub. date: JAN 2027)

HELLFIRE #4 - HOLY GHOST EXORCIST #2 (projected pub. date: FEB 2027)

HELLFIRE #5 - SMALLDOG #3 (projected pub. date: MAR 2027)

HELLFIRE ANNUAL #1 - PHUKET MAMA #1 (projected pub. date: APR 2027)

All of these books will be considered Red Band & Suggested for Mature Audiences. Readers who are offended by anything are advised not to read them. They deal with religious themes, the sex-industry (primarily prostitution, so far), drug & weapons trades, accountablity, politics, church politics, nepotism, the world's system, divine justice, etc. At times some of the stories will be tied to &/or loosely based on real history, events, etc. You have been warned. *Also, as a sidenote, A TOUCH OF HELLFIRE #1&2 are both 6 page comic stories, whether they'll be publishing within these books or another anthology is currently up in the air. Also, the kid-friendly book MY FRIEND HELLFIRE #1 has been illustrated for a while now. I am wanting HOLY GHOST EXORCIST: 1981 HALLOWEEN SPECIAL to be finished for the flip-side though. Regardless, that will come out at some point. I was inspired by Archie Meets The Punisher for that. There is a quirkiness to having a cute innocent character/story that involves a character (i.e. HELLFIRE) who notably does such extremely dark & violent things to bad people. ...So, essentially it is the only Hellfire story where nobody dies. It's cute, it's fun, and probably like most people I enjoy a story where school bullies get the fear of The Lord put into them, all to help new kid in school with no real friends.

HELLFIRE

In January 1972, the Rev. Benny Blue is brutally murdered by 3 members of a local Youngstown, Ohio mafia syndicate, in which one of the men takes him at gun-point, has him drive to a certain location, where the others are waiting. The brutally beat him, one (ignorantly) stabs him with a priceless artifact, known as The Spear of Destiny (i.e., the blade that pieced the side of Jesus Christ at Calvary) that they're transferring to a buyer. They put him back into his Volkswagon Beetle, dose him with gasoline, light him on fire, close the door, roll the car out onto the frozen Mahoning River, where his scorched carcass sinks down to it's watery grave.

Three days later, having passed back through the veil that seperates life from death, he arises as this resurrected thing. Like a sort of destroying angel, he seeks to stalk and kill everyone associated with his murder as well as other evil-doers. These stories are incredibly dark, violent, and disparaging, shining a light on the darkness that most don't see. The first season of HELLFIRE has been announced to publish NOV 2026 - APR 2027. They will all be flip-book, including another comic on the reverse side, short prose stories, and all manner of world building. All comics within the totality of these books are a part of this universe, which perfectly is a part of the B. L. Blankenship main literary universe.

HELLFIRE RELATED CAMEO SPOILERS: From the ultra-violent, Western Horror novel series God Walks The Dark Hills, the chthonic idiot god, Peter Grimm will physically appear. His son, Julian Smith, who was conceded from his brutal raping of Glenda Smith, which is mentioned in the books, will be mentioned in this (specifically as the collector, whom to who The Spear of Destiny was being transported to. The Shadow Man, which is what will finally come of God Walks The Dark Hills' main protagonist, Chike Bancole aka Reginald Beauregard Valencia, will be appearing in SMALLDOG #3 & HELLFIRE ANNUAL #1, capping off the season & amping up the odds for Season 2 – provided that there are enough sales to substantiate/fund it. This places these characters amid Hellfire's gauntlet for season, as well as the others who're introduced within these 6 book.

HOLY GHOST EXORCIST

What began as the 11 chapter Southern Gothic novel about a down-to-earth, humble, bi-vocational, Pentecostal-Holiness pastor who God called into deliverance ministry & everything that came because of it, is now expanding into so much more. While the novel has been highly acclaimed by some, it is my personal feeling that it's completely undervalued, or rather unoticed, by most. Whether you're someone who likes series like The Conjuring, Exorcism movies, or someone who is actually involved in deliverance ministry in real life, you'd likely love this to an extent that cannot be verbalized. Simply put, Holy Ghost Exorcist is outrageously realistic. It is based off of real ministries, real people, real exorcisms, real historical events, etc. It feels sincere & genuine the same way that Breaking Bad deals with what would happen if someone was manufacturing and selling meth.

In the book, Pastor Jackie Noble is primarily combatted by other clergymen within his church organization who have not had the same revelation to scripture as he has. The comics all take place after the events of the book, adding random footprints here and there. Both Jackie, and his wife Penny Noble, are consencrated to God, and exorcise spirtual authority in accordance to holy scripture. Statistically, the Catholic Church has done more exorcisms than any other Christian group. Obviously, they've been established far longer. The second place holder is Pentecostals. While almost all media dealing with Christian Exorcisms circles around Catholics, which tends to be more about investigating. Holy Ghost Exorcist is stylistically more about power encounters in an all gas, no breaks sort of way. The comic book issues and short prose stories of Holy Ghost Exorcist will be on the reverse side of HELLFIRE #2 & #4. There is also an incredible graphic novel being worked on that is slated to publish in 2028.

SMALLDOG

Officer Harvey "Smalldog" Pack will appear on the flip-side of HELLFIRE #1, #3, & #5, as well as be making a cameo in HELLFIRE #4. Essentially, he's a wildly racist, egotistical police officer who often works outside of the law. Ideally, when I was working on the HELLFIRE comics, I thought how Spawn, Wesley Dodds/Sandman, & Batman all have police officers who they have some interaction & almost a rivalry with. While Hellfire quiety stalks and burns evil-doers to Hell (literally) in the background, like a phantom, this policeman nicknamed "Smalldog" works a myriad of these homocide cases alongside his black partner Officer Jordan Banks –whom by his name you can tell is more of the good guy/moral compass of the two.

Essentially, characters like this, who exhibit absolutely no Christian virtue only aid in showing how dark and dirty the world is. Moreover, Smalldog does side jobs for the local mobster & grocer Tommy Dalitz. Whereas he lives in the same town & works the streets where Hellfire is, they're likely to encounter each other a few times within the total-arc. You could basically chalk him up by taking characters from police movies like the Dirty Harry franchise, Internal Affairs, and things of that nature.

OTHER CHARACTERS:

Of course there are other characters within the books haboring the 1st Season of Hellfire who hold value. With that said, the only other comic that'll be on a flip-side is the reprinting of PHUKET MAMA #1, which initially published on the reverse side of ZORRO KILLS #1, which then had to be pulled due to trademark. It's main protagonist is someone towards the end of the God Walks The Dark Hills novel series. When Rial Steward leaves the United States, he ventures to the Kingdom of Siam where he meets this berated, beautiful Chinese half-breed, whom he loves. He teaches her to become the sort of monster/demon-slaying Vanhelsing sort of character he's become – like the order he, at that point, belongs to. While it occures around the 1910s-1920s & all of the HELLFIRE, HOLY GHOST EXORCIST, & SMALLDOG stuff takes place in the early 1970s, it's important, as you'll note that the CIA's Special Agent Caleb "Hellhound" Schechter utilizes some of the same techniques.

Caleb Schechter is introduced in HELLFIRE ANNUAL #1, as a major part of the story. A short and sloppy way of describing him would be to say that he's like The Punisher, Nick Fury, James Bond, & The Men in Black rolled up into one. I will divuldge that he was initially created for another comic series, that I've not put out – which takes place in the 1980s. He just seems perfect for the Hellfire season 1 finale & all of the things that I am planning thereafter. He is a mortal man who can stand against characters that mortal men typically could not. He's a weapons expert, a martial arts expert, and has an absolute ton of knowledge and information that the public just could not handle. Moreover, as a member of the CIA, he acts with governmental immunity.

While I don't intended to give a lot of his backstory here, I will say that he was intentionally named Schechter as he is a relative of Zev Schechter from the God Walks The Dark Hills novel series. He's also a holocaust survivor & fought against Soviets after WWII – to say it in the vaguest way possible. Caleb Schechter aka Hellhound has a high possibility of getting his own spin-off series, whether stand alone or on the flip-side Hellfire issues in its second season (pending that happens).
